Fashion Merchandiser

Job Description

Retrofete.com is an ecommerce destination for the ultimate globe trotter and party girl, offering a comprehensive, one-of-a-kind shopping experience that fulfills every fashion-forward girl’s wardrobe needs to take her from day to night, and city to beach.

Reporting to the VP of Buying and Merchandising, and working closely with the President, Creative Director, Web Manager, and Art Director, the Fashion Merchandiser will be responsible for executing an exceptionally strong visual representation of Retrofete and Third Party Brands offered on Retrofete.com. This role requires both analytical and creative talent with experience in fashion ecommerce. Additionally, a strong knowledge of women's contemporary and luxury fashion is required.

Salary Range (based on experience): $70K-$75K

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for merchandising brand and category pages to maximize sales, as well as curating and maintaining trend focused assortments to support features and campaigns
  • Ensure Retrofete.com offers an exceptional customer shopping experience through the execution of our merchandising strategy from a category and end use perspective
  • This includes creating compelling, customer-driven merchandise assortments and hind sighting on assortment performance
  • Ensure timely releases of product to the site with accountability for accurate product information
  • Validate all site assortments, including product categories, brand pages, trend assortments, and special promotions
  • Execute product placement, visibility of key items, and priority placement of marketed products on all applicable pages
  • Curate assortments to support featured stories, editorials, and marketed newsletters
  • Maintain seasonal and trend assortments to support large campaigns and promote discovery
  • Provide site linking based on feature creative and copy, as well as Facebook advertising that aligns with current merchandising strategy
  • Leverage site analytics to understand performance and customer interactions with brands, categories, and other assortments
  • Identify and work with cross functional partners to resolve any issues that may arise
  • Manage additional special products as needed

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of experience working for a web retailer or brand in the women’s contemporary market
  • Keen eye for fashion trends and strong understanding and knowledge of brands in the contemporary, advanced contemporary, and luxury markets
  • Strong knowledge of current fashion trends, designers and products, and a passion for styling and merchandising
  • Ability to problem solve and have a solutions focused attitude
  • Motivated self-starter who can both collaborate on existing process as well as develop new strategies to grow the Retrofete.com business
  • Strong computer literacy and an understanding of the digital world
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team based dynamic as well as liaise with cross-functional teams

Part-Time Customer Service Associate

Rate: $22/hr

Location: Remote nights and weekends

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional online customer service support in order to maximize online sales
  • Manage customer cases providing support and information regarding eCommerce products, stock availability, order inquiries, returns, shipping information and damages via live chat and email
  • Have an eagerness and willingness to over exceed customer expectations when delivering information.
  • Handle customer feedback/complaints appropriately and according to company policy.
  • Report back to management about critical or consistent feedback related to website functionality, product, or service.

Requirements

Technical Freelance Designer

Responsibilities

  • Position will mainly focus on Tech packs
  • Take ownership of designated styles from SMS to TOP and update tech packs as needed from fitting and review
  • Attend designated fittings and assist in making corrections
  • Ability to update tech packs with accurate construction callouts/details, specs, BOM, and label pages
  • Communicate daily with domestic and factories to solve production and quality issues, fit comments, and construction with updated tech packs and pattern corrections
  • Finalize production tech packs with fit comments, measurements, grading and label pages
  • Knowledge of patternmaking and pattern corrections
  • Quality Control/inspect bulk production size sets to check compliance and submit reports on findings
  • Handle multiple projects and work quickly in a deadline-driven environment without sacrificing quality
  • Must be able to take direction independently while working in a team environment
  • Interact daily with Design, Production, Web, VPR, Logistics and Sales teams
  • Work closely and report to Production Manager

Associate Accessories Designer

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the research and development of each category, focusing on product integrity and growth
  • Responsible for the entire accessories design process, from research and conceptual presentations through sample execution
  • Fast and efficient knowledge in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Email and communicate directly with factories on development and our teams overseas to source new materials
  • Attend trade shows, shop retail, and research to ensure designs are on-trend for our brand and represent our target customer
  • Be able to develop products from start to finish
  • This includes CAD presentations, embroidery development, and detailed specs
  • Design categories include Bags, Jewelry and Shoes
  • Be responsible for own account and design to target this specific customer while keeping true to the brand
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines while not compromising design aesthetic
  • Partner with buying team to ensure the integrity of designs is maintained during the product development process
  • Maintain effective communication with factories to ensure efficient sampling processes
  • Partner with Production on vendor allocation, pre-costing, and quality adherence
  • Develop a continuous flow of new concepts and growth opportunities, guiding our accessories offering as a leader in the marketplace

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3 years experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Proficiency with Adobe Suite, especially Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in CAD
  • Ability to re-design

Embroidery Specialist

Professional embroidery specialist to work on an ongoing project. The project entails fixing damages on returned items—great pay & flexibility. Experience required must be familiar with sequin and delicate items. All smiling faces apply!

Salary: $20/hour, 8 Hour Shifts

Responsibilities

Your primary role is the fulfillment of repairs from e-commerce and store damages as well as communicate supplies, ideas for efficiency and accuracy, repeat damages, or anything to improve the sewing process.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Proven sewing experience, at least 2-3 years of embroidery experience.
  • Must be familiar with sequin and delicate items
  • Sound knowledge of various fabrics and sewing techniques.
  • The ability to work under time constraints.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
